About The Show

The WYO Performing Arts & Education Center gets even more magical this November when two talented locals, AJ Longhurst and John Rotellini, prove what happens when “Amazing Meets Extraordinary: Magic Takes the WYO” on Friday, November 20 at 7:30pm and Saturday, November 21 at 4pm.

John Rotellini and AJ Longhurst bring their own magical experience to the stage and both are rooted in theater, a WYO specialty. For John, a childhood love of magic paired with an eclectic collection of interests led him to a career in doing extraordinary things onstage. By combining sleight of hand magic and illusions with psychology and theatre, John has created live, interactive events that have wowed audiences around the world.

AJ aka The Amazing AJ! also found an interested in magic when he was young, and he first experienced magic close-up. AJ has performed magic professionally for more than 10 years and has been a professional actor for more than 20 years. Now both collide on the WYO stage November 20 and 21.

“It’s thrilling to return to my roots on the WYO stage,” says John. “Though it looks a bit different than when I was a kid it’s as exciting as ever to share my magic with my hometown audience. AJ agrees, “theater is definitely one of my passions and while I’ve performed on the WYO stage many times, I’ve never had the opportunity to perform my magic there. It’s going to be an excellent event.”

Sponsored by the WYO’s Major Season Sponsors along with Lyle & Dianna Neal, John & Jeanette Trohkimoinen and Alphagraphics, patrons can purchase tickets at wyotheater.com to attend either the live stream or the live event itself with a limited number of seats available. Concertgoers will be encouraged to wear masks.

ABOUT THE WYO PERFORMING ARTS AND EDUCATION CENTER

The WYO was originally built in 1923 as the Lotus, a vaudeville theater. The theater entertained Sheridan families for nearly 60 years with both live performances and films before closing its doors in 1982. Its future uncertain, the theater seemed destined to become just another main street memory.

Faced with the loss of this venerable landmark the citizens of Sheridan came together to rescue the building. Community leadership coupled with the generous gifts of time and money by individuals, businesses, and private foundations not only saved the theater, but renovated it to become an architectural centerpiece and important performing arts facility for downtown Sheridan.

Since reopening in 1989 as a road-house, the WYO has brought countless hours of live entertainment, cultural enrichment, and educational opportunities to the greater Sheridan community. Learn more about the upcoming programming at wyotheater.com.
