Grateful. Thankful. Appreciative. I’m very fortunate to have a great family, wonderful friends and a career I love amongst many other blessings. Being able to share smiles with friends near and far is one of my favorite things about my career. Thanks to @winwincharity, it’s partners and sponsors, I’ve had the opportunity to make new friends in person as well as virtually at Children’s Hospitals around the country. Over the past few years, I’ve grown to become close with two very special members of the @ryanfoundation #SeacrestStudios @vumcchildren in Nashville, TN, @mamieshepherd and @caycelong. They’re incredible on-air hosts for the hospital and come up with tons of ongoing 24/7 programming for their patients, staff and guests and have been integral in helping Win-Win create a national network of friends. It’s incredible to see how positive, driven and joyous these folks are in their mission to make sure the world is a better place, even in the face of tragedy. Thank you to Mamie, Cayce for the warmest of welcomes back to Nashville and to their campus for my first in-person, on-site visit to their studio. 4/4 @nycmarathon marathon recap! Crossing the finish was incredibly fulfilling and being awarded my finisher medal was fantastic. It’s phenomenal how heavy they are! After the race, finishers needed to make their way through a series of checkpoints to get the last of our post race swag, see medical if needed and get a proper cool down in. Everyone that I interacted with that had anything to do with the race was so kind and professional. The atmosphere surrounding the race, be it in the lead up to, during or after was really magical. That magic continued once I exited the finisher corral and got to reconvene with my cheering section. While I had friends and family sending their support in the lead up to, and during the race digitally, the always lovely @moore_alex27 supported me in the months of preparation leading up to the race, traveled to New York with me, and was at the finish line to cheer me on. Getting to see her smile and show off my flashy new hardware was really fun. We then headed into the city further to grab a much needed post race snack and a celebratory cocktail (Alex was kind enough to help me down the stairs 😂😂😂). The next day, we ventured back into Manhattan for #MedalMonday and had an amazing dinner with our dear friends and gracious hosts @erosad and @tfox_08. All in all, a dream come true and a mission success. Thanks to everyone who helped me prepare, train, and get across the line. There’s a number of fantastic organizations and individuals who have made this possible. 3/4 @nycmarathon recap! At long last - months of training and over a year of waiting, it was time to hear the gun, cross the start and set off on the course! I was warned that the course is deceptively fast and that couldn’t be more accurate. I knew I’d go out fast but, even after scaling back a bit, I was still headed out above pace. The race was incredible. Each of the five boroughs had a distinct flavor. The city came out in full force. The entire course was filled with love, support and more positive energy and can-do attitude than I could’ve imagined. Truly an opportunity to see NYC at its best. The race flew by through the half and it wasn’t until miles 18-21 that my going out too fast caught up with me. Thankfully, I was able to scale back a bit and focus on reasonable consistency to complete the race. I was thrilled to smash a new PR of 4:10:42 (even if I didn’t hit my bonus goal of going sub 4:00:00, which I now know is possible with better race planning and a bit more training). My @underarmour @uarunning gear (singlet, compression trunks, running shorts and #FlowVelocitiElite shoes) worked like a charm. The new Velociti Elite racing shoes were the perfect hybrid of the snappiness of the Pebax plate that I’ve come to expect from the #HOVRMachina3 and the lightweight and smooth step through of the #FlowVelocitiWind2’s that I’ve been training and racing in prior. This shoe will be turning some heads and I can’t thank UA enough for letting me gain access to these ahead of their global public release in 2023. @honeystinger came in clutch during the race - my Chews were the perfect way to maintain my energy levels and helped bring me out of some fatigue troughs toward the end. I can’t speak highly enough about Honey Stinger. Their products are fantastic and the company has an excellent culture of positivity and support, whether a pro athlete, a competitive amateur or a weekend warrior. I can’t thank them enough for getting behind me and sponsoring my entry. 2/4 @nycmarathon recap! Race day started early (made even earlier by the redeye the previous day and the minor amount of sleep the night before). 3:30am wake to prep, fuel and transit to @nyc.pubc.library for my 5am bus. Like everything about race day, things were absolutely electric. It was astonishing to see just how many people were not only at the bus pickup at 5 but bright eyed and bushy tailed. Buses flew in and out with the most precision and quickest loading and departing I’ve seen anywhere. The ride to race villages in Staten Island was filled with positivity and people amped up for the day. Upon arrival, we were greeted with an incredible sunrise over the start line on the Verrazano Bridge. There was plenty of time to get in some additional pre-race carbs (NYC Bagel, anyone) and the good folks @dunkin and @gatorade made sure we all stayed hydrated. While it was tough to prioritize rest, there were a few cat naps and some quality therapy dog cuddles (yes you read that right). After several laps of the village, lots of stretching, plyometrics and some delicious pre-race @honeystinger waffles (vanilla is still my go-to favorite) it was finally time to head to the start line. I felt especially ready to go fast and crush a race thanks to the always amazing team @underarmour who very kindly allowed me to get my hands on a pair of their brand new @uarunning #FlowVelocitiElite racing shoes months before their public release. Keep your eyes peeled for them to hit store shelves sometime in 2023 - these were an absolute joy to race in and I’m looking forward to more PR’s in them. #UnderArmour #UARunning #FlowVelocitiElite #HSHive #SweetenTheBurn #Running #Marathon

1/4 @nycmarathon recap! Adventures began on Race Saturday with a trip from Las Vegas to NYC. The weather was exemplary (especially for November) which made traversing the city a treat.
